A few turned out
looking alright, a small victory. But they still tasted like cornbread. Dry, too-sweet, scallop-shaped cornbread. Sigh.
Maybe it's the recipe. I checked out cookstr.com and there are a bunch of options. Maybe you could compare your recipe to those. They're supposed to be from chefs, and I usually like what I've made off of there.
ReplyDeleteI think you're right. I heard that Julia Child has the best recipe, but it's in her third volume, which I don't have. A trip to the library and then to get more butter might be in order.
